One of the main reasons why we at Lakeshore Marine are pleased to operate the St. Johns River Taxi is our passion for the river.  We have navigated the St. Johns River our entire lives and have a deep appreciation for all it has to offer. Jacksonville is blessed to have a river run through the heart of its downtown and to have incredible cultural amenitites, educational resources, nature preserves, and waterfront parks - all a stone's throw from downtown.  We hope you will join us on a tour or special outing!

Downtown Sunset Cruise

We are now offering Sunset Cruises on Saturdays! Enjoy live music as you cruise the St. Johns and watch the sun set in Downtown Jacksonville. This ticketed one-hour excursion will depart from Friendship Park at 5:00 pm and will make one stop at the Jacksonville Landing. Bring your own refreshments. Click  here for ticket information.

Field Trips, Scout excursions

There are so many opportunities for learning on the St. Johns River. Marine life, environmental protection, economic development and Jacksonville history are just a few of the topics our knowledgeable staff can share with children on a river tour. In addition to providing educational trips, the taxi is also a great place to gather just for fun. Classes, teams, church youth groups and families can book a cruise by contacting us here.

Jax Zoo Dolphin Tours

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens features over 2000 animals and 1000 plant varieties at its 117 acre location on the Trout River.  When visiting the Zoo, you can now enjoy a 30 minute narrated river tour from the zoo docks and quite possibly see manatees, dolphin, egrets, seagulls, turtles, and more as you cruise the Trout and St Johns rivers. Tickets can be purchased at the Zoo dock and tours leave at noon, 1pm, and 2pm. 

Weddings and Large Groups

 

Are you getting married in or around downtown Jacksonville?  Are your guests staying in a downtown hotel?  Consider using the river taxi to transport your guests to and from the reception.  We offer private charter rates for large groups.

 

We also offer special programming for large groups and meeting planners.  Contact us to see if the River Taxi might fit into your plans.

MOSH Science & History Tour

The Museum of Science & History has teamed up with the River Taxi on Saturdays to explore the history of Jacksonville from the perspective of the ancient mariners that traveled the river hundreds of years ago. Take a 30 minute narrated cruise and learn about the importance of the St. Johns over time.  Tickets can be purchased at MOSH on Saturdays with proceeds benefitting the museum or they can be purchased online here.
